Hi Guys,
Took the Simplex out for a ride today.
Only went 5 miles or so and then disaster struck.
The bracket that mounts to the motor and frame that holds the throttle and choke cable and that the toggle switch mounts to
broke. It appears to have been repaired before and I will repair it now. I would like to get one that has not been repaired knowing that the weld point will always be weak and subject to breaking again. If someone has one and is willing to part with it please contact me with price and we will work out the details. I have also included a few pics of the part in question.

That part shouldn't have that much load on it.  A decent weld on both sides with penetration should hold up.

I would bet that Wayne has that part available.

The part looks like it gets a lot of vibration I think that is the reason for failure.

Hi Relic,
Did your original die the same way.
I think that the vibration took it's toll on it.
It obviously was welded before and was weak but, something made it break to start.
Don't know but, if that was an on-going problem maybe I can do some kind of isolator...???

From what we've read on the history of these motors, the earlier models did have more "shake" due to undersize counterweight on the crank.  That would mean the early bikes would put more stress into that bracket.
