just thought ya all might like a peak at a car we have done all the work on over the last 4 years. 1965 427 REAL cobra. this car will be shown this spring at ameila island concors. since its been finished only a few have seen the car. the owner has been offered 2 mill for it and turned it down. so now ya say, big deal a cobra, but ahhhh hold on. its one of one black 65 427s, ok so, well its one of 6 427s built on a narrow hip car ( huh, yep a 289 body before they changed). this car has an extensive race  history in ca. car was restored in Lilburn ga and is now in north Carolina with its owner. I will post some finished pix of the car when I download them at home. also, this is the first real cobra that has its frame powder coated. HUH you say, yes you cant take the body off of a REAL one. it would fold up like tin foal, all riveted to the frame. they built the body around the frame.

this car will most likely be one of the most talked about 427 cobras. if you think the black paint looks slick in the pix, you should see it in person. ive never seen a straighter black car

if you think the interior was redone, your wrong. they found a guy in CA that had a 65 427 repoed in 66. he stripped the car of seats, carpet, spare tire, carbs and had it all stored in his basement all these years. they payed 20,000 for all that stuff. cant make this shit up

by the way, that's me in the first pix

since ya all aren't talkin today I thought ild tell a story.

couple years ago we were hosting a Georgia street rod association meeting here at the shop. I had one of our simplexs  sitting on display. well, this older guy(my age) kept looking at the simplex, then walk away for awhile. as I was going by,after one of the many times he was looking, he stopped me and said, see this chipped tooth in the back of my mouth. I said yes??? well I fell off one of these SOB things when I was a kid.

this is a pix of my sons short school bus hes building and a rendering of what it will look like when done. its a 46 chevy . he mounted the body on a 2005 chevy box truck. most of the fabricating metal work is done and is close to being media blasted, body work and then paint.
wonder  how many simplexs will fit in it. he has a 3 yr old, can you imagine him taking the kid to school in this when hes older

I might add, everything has been fitted already, front end , steering column, doors reskined, cowl was extended, side windows(4) are power, so it will be pretty cool

relic, I was just talking to another member the other day about how some guys wont buy a repo tire, and putting these stupid looking what ever tires on. that's all I have to say about that.
the prices are what people will pay. this bike of my sons couldn't be bought for less than 8,000 to 10,000. oh I hear ya all saying bull. well first, it was all original and still is after the restoration. every nut and bolt was used that was original. they were all replated, etc. just the chrome being redone was over a thousand. this bike must have been a dealers dispay model. you never see any with all that much chrome. it has REAL repo TIRES, lol   imagine that. by the way, itll NEVER be for sale.
