Title: What is the correct spring dimensions for the later shifter bikes (K model)
Post by: Scooter4 on November 10, 2021, 05:29:00 PM
Good evening,
Will someone please give me the correct spring dimensions for the later shifter bikes (K model) that go on each side of the pulley assembly and connect in the frame tubes behind the engine?  The ones I tried just fall a little short of having enough tension.

Mine are: .535 OD X .079" wire and have 10" free length hook end to hook end and the coil part is 7 1/2".  Refer to attached image.
Thank you,
Scooter

I measured a few of mine and also the ones on my '48 rocker clutch bike.

Length  from inside hook to inside hook   10 3/8"

Dia.  .447"

wire size    .093"

coil length   8 7/8"

Thank you for the reply.
That makes sense to me because the difference between those and mine is about the amount I was thinking I needed more of.
I will get a couple of those.
Thank you for taking the time to measure them.
