This is a basic outline, but remember, with Simplex, nothing is absolute!

In case you didn't know :

On the Simplex Model Year differences PDF , there's a small yellow square just above the model "L" designation .
If you pass your cursor over that square , a note will pop up .

If that doesn't work for you , the pop up note says :

"Motor #s stamped above the compression plate and moved to below the compression plate about this time ."
