I just finished up my Mars Rover project. I just need to get the battery pack and it will be up and running.

Handle, just not attached in picture.

Looks like that might just work , Rick .
I guess you don't feel old enough to have made it remote controlled .
Maybe the next version . ;)
Pete . :)

I did see a design were a guy used two motors so he could counter rotate them to steer. Was neat, but overly complicated.

Your design with handle 'steering' should get it done , easy enough .
I can see using 2 motors for a remote control system .

I have my trailer stored in a tight spot. When I had my 6x12 enclosed I could just spin it into place with my hand dolly, but my new 7 x 16 is just too heavy. This should make it easy. I need to get a deep cycle battery then I can test it out.

The 7x16 should have just about twice the tongue weight .
So , it's understandable that the job would be a little more tedious . LOL

That and the dual axle makes it harder to turn.
I bench tested it with my battery charger, looks like it’s a winner. When the temperature gets warmer, I’ll get the battery and test it on the trailer.
Just as an aside, the 2 wheels in the middle are powered, while the 2 on the outside freewheel. This should make it turn easily and provide nice floatation on softer ground.

Well , hurry up warm weather .
We want to see how this thing performs . ;)
