Did you ever get around to posting photos with the kickstarter attached to your bike’s motor? I’d love to see how much t looks and in action

Thanks for the help, guys! Looks like I'll be going with Wayne's kit. I'm excited to get the bike cruising. I'll try and post pics during the build process.

Ah, good info. So, are you just running a jackshaft in that photo sans torque converter? I like the look of that on your build. Did you have to do any fabricating? I'm lacking in the tool/skill set department for much more than bolting and aligning.

Hi folks, just wondering if any of you have just run a belt directly from a centrifugal clutch to the rear sheave of your Simplexes? I have a HF predator 212cc and am not looking to go crazy fast, just maybe cruise around 30 to 35 mph. It's pretty hilly around my neighborhood so I'd like to keep the torque but I'm afraid the sheave might be too big to do anything BUT low end. Suggestions, ideas, personal experiences? Just not sure if I want to go the jackshaft route yet.

Simplexes with Non-Original Engines / Re: shiny new fuel filter

Thanks guys, I can honestly say, I have enjoyed working on it as much as riding it.  The work, design, fabrication, paint and modifications I have done, although on a budget, (est. at $1100 total) surpassed my expectations.  I appreciate your input and encouragement.  I've "re-done" quite a number of small bikes/motorcycles over the past years as a hobby, but will probably keep this one as my most unique/favorite looking moped.  Hopefully others looking for info. on how to do a "clone motor Servi" can use some of the stuff I've posted to help on their own project.  I'm always happy to pass on what I've learned to anyone who asks.
Just curious, how were you able to get your Simplex classified as a moped with the HF 212cc engine? I'm putting one into my own bike and would love to register it as a moped too.

I'm in Kansas. I have no idea how strict they are about registering policies. I've built and driven around a motorized bicycle with absolutely zero issues from the local police, so maybe I'll be in good shape? Is it the DMV that classifies it as a motorcycle or moped? I read somewhere that a moped in Kansas is classified as having no more than 3.5 horsepower and 130cc but I've seen photos of another member's Simplex with the same engine as mine with moped tags. I believe "carryall" was the member

Hi everyone, I inherited a Simplex from my father-in-law a while back and am in the process of fixing it up for street use. I went the HF Predator route. This site has already been VERY informative. Glad I found it!

Other Things Simplex / Registering Simplex as a moped?

Hi all, I'm still in the beginning stages of a build with a HF Predator engine but am curious how some of you have gone about registering your Simplexes with non-original engines as mopeds and what, if any, things need to be added to pass inspection for street use. Thanks for any advice you have for me!
