Does anyone have an original fly wheel puller that used to mount on to the small circular disk on the frame for an early 48 bike?

Wheels & Tires / New Tubes/Rim Strip

Where is the best place to get new tubes and rim strip for my 48's wheels? I've seen the Schwinn 26 x 1.25 with the Schraeder Valve in Target but didn't know if there are better tubes out there. My tires will be from Coker and I see they have 26inch rim strip but didn't know if that was going to be the right one. Thank you!

I am looking to replace the cloth wrapped 6v wire from my headlight and taillight. Anyone have a good source on a quality reproduction and which gage wire to use? Thanks!

« on: May 25, 2021, 07:55:13 PM »Inside that tube is a torsion Spring that returns the throttle the early MS style carb worked differently than the later automatics. If the Spring isn't any good you will need to put a return Spring on it
The spring inside works great! Didn't know if I should attempt to un-crimp it and remove the plug. I just talked to Wayne today and he is sending me a MS rebuild kit. Most all of mine is there, but it's good to have just in case.

I have the oil bath filter on my 48. Just cleaned mine out earlier this week. Love it. From what Wayne has told me Simplex only used it for about a year and a half? Anyone know differently? Apparently they are sought after.

This is the carb that was on my 48 simplex. It is a Tillotston MS93E. I had a question about why this particular piece appears to be plugged and crimped? Also, what is the purpose of this piece. I've already ordered a new gasket set for it, but will be calling Wayne if I need replacement parts.

What is the best spark plug to use? I'm going to take the original Edisons that in my engine out of display purposes. I was wondering what the best/preferred spark plug is. I've seen Autolite 295 and NGK B4H thrown out as a couple. Also, what would be the preferred plug gap?

Does any one know the proper paint to be used for WW2 US Army use? I've know of several varieties from my days doing ww2 reenactments and Rapco is the best place for paint. Was just wondering if 33070 early WW2 Lusterless OD, 319 Late war Lusterless, or 23070 WW2 Semi-Gloss OD. I imagine it would be the same paint that was used on WLA's and WLC's.
