Good work.  I think you really need to measure the cylinder with a bore gauge to make sure it didn’t warp from the heat.  If it did, a good hone job should bring it back to round.  Not a ball hone, but a straight stone hone, like a Sunnen or Lisle.

Oh well, this explains why the Aluminum/Magnesium brazing rods aren't sticking on the head fins??
So what are the best options for those head's fins repair?

Hi There;
 I have a 1948 with Magnesium engine Base and cylinder head, and I've been trying to repair some holes/cracks and broken fin's using Hobart aluminum rod and acetylene/oxygen torch
and so far it really doesn't work.
Unless someone would give me advice on how to properly do it, I am now considering fabricating some new fins out of aluminum and simply gluing those to the head and then machining them
to look like the other ones, and then simply paint the whole engine when all done.
Any's advices or procedures or products would be very appreciated; Best regards

Camera flash  caused reflection but decal is clear with white lettering.

Is this also possible to get the Oil Bath air filter decal as well?

Yes Rick, here is a picture of the crank-bolt that I've removed from the 48', it looks different from the ones you posted above?

Rick, Why not only explain how to test the two coils on an actual Wyko?
How to set up the Ohmmeter value?
Which color tester wires to connect exactly where?
And what reading should we expect for a normal condition Magneto system?

What do you mean by " No HT wire connected"? Is it possible that the ignition switch on a 48 could be closed at center setting, and when engaged front or rear position, engine running with or without lighting system on?
