Sounds like a nice rig. I had a '49 w/ the long bed (ton rating) a long time ago. Got it in a trade. When I was driving it home, it started running really bad & actually quit. Turned out that the rocker arms were so worn & clattered so much that the guy had tightened the valves up so tight (so he could sell it) that after the engine warmed up there was no clearance & the valves were being held open. I had to re-do the whole top end to fix it right.
