Wico Backing Plate

I think I know what you mean . I was waiting for my coffee when It came to me that maybe the spider is the layered steel piece that holds the coils in place . It kinda looks like a spider , anyway .

YUP!

 I'm looking for parts for my next restoration, just throwing it out there to see if anyone has one before I try Wayne.

For the record, the Part number is 1240, which includes the Stator Plate and Core.  So the official Simplex name for the "spider" is Core.
