Rick, Why not only explain how to test the two coils on an actual Wyko?
How to set up the Ohmmeter value?
Which color tester wires to connect exactly where?
And what reading should we expect for a normal condition Magneto system?
I understand that everybody's must know it; but I don't, Thanks...!!
The following resistances were taken from my Phelon magneto . I would think the Wyco system should be similar .
Magneto Resistance :
OEM ignition coil 14.11 ohm Phelon # 2454
Cushman ignition coil 17.7 ohm out of the box / 17.66 ohm installed .
Tail running light coil .5 ohm ( blue wire - upper coil )
Tail stop light coil .7 ohm Bulb 1154
Headlight coil .9 ohm
Every multimeter comes with pretty simple instructions . Harbor Freight has one for 7 bucks that will do nicely for most purposes .
Basically black lead in the common 'hole' goes to ground ...
Set the meter to ? , lowest value .
Each component should be tested disconnected and separated from the stator .
