Just figured I would pick yalls brains a little bit. Will any Tillotson MT carb work with my motor and what model # is original to the M motor? I have a Tillotson MT 57a and don't have a carb for my dads bike but have a few old cushman scooter motors with carbs

MT1 came stock .

I went through this same thing . I have an MT9B and an MT48A . I've seen differences in venturi sizes , choke and throttle control attachments and the metering needles and tubes . These differences are among the various Tillotson carbs .

 The last time you asked about the venturi, I forgot that it is cast into the fuel bowl!!

Apparently , MT57A was the last carb Simplex used .

The thread Rick just posted ^ talks about it .

I've looked in the bowls of both my carbs and can't make out anything legible .

If your original MT57A is not useable, you can buy a new reproduction thru Dennis Carpenter (the guy who makes reproduction Ford rubber) for about a hundred bucks.

Hey yall,I have a question.There is a screw in the bottom of intake manifold where the carb bolts up. What is that for?

That is the 64 dollar question.  I kinda wonder if it was used at the factory when they put the motors together.  Maybe it was a port to help fine tune them or test fire them.

My dad said he thought it might have been to drain fuel out of motor if flooded but not sure
