Interesting bike.  Has some Sportsman attributes.  Would you mind sharing the frame number (located under the neck, just in front of the crashbars) & motor number (located just below the round crankcase cover on the left side of the motor)?  

Regarding values, 2000 to 3500 seems to be the range for complete bikes that are not "fresh" restorations.  Good luck.

Your frame is a '55 or '56, (it's right there in the transition timing) but the motor is much older (pre '47).  It's my guess your bike is a Johny Cash (meaning someone put it together from several differnent bikes).  Not that this is a bad thing, as all Simplexes that are in one piece are cool!
