What kind of power do they put out?  I don't like the gas tank, as that is one of the best features of a simplex.  I bet you could enlarge the frame about 25% and fit the engine in properly.

I hear ya Rick but that was a sweet tank. Self-made SPUN aluminum in his lathe.  Also a billet aluminum air breather too. I think that engine was about 29 cubic inches.

Those Gravely motors do look good in there.

I agree with you about the original Simplex tank; it is a beauty; hard to improve on.

A little more on the Gravely "L" engine; 49 cubic inches, 800 cc's and a whopping 7.6 hp. Guessing that it weighed 70 to 80 lbs.

Gravely's just look & sound awesome. I know a local farmer who has several running Gravely tractors, tilllers & mowers with an assortment of tools/attachments. The rated power quoted is correct but those are full grown horses and not ponys! Rick C.
