Paint Codes?

Does anyone happen to have any paint codes for modern paints that approximate the colors the factory used?  The current bike I am working on was moron, and I am thinking of returning it to that color.  Most of the bike had been rattle canned black over the years, but under the tail light housing and foot pads is the original color, albeit, not in great shape.  I may have a paint supply house try to scan the back side of the housing and see what they can come up with.

I know some NAPA shops have pretty decent scanners .

That maroon is a very nice color . I'd likely do most of the bike in it , frame and such ...
A bit of pin stripping to set it off , for that WOW factor .

Thinking about doing the tank, fenders and headlight in the maroon; the frame and such in black powder coat.

More of a 'traditional' look . That would flow nicely , too .

I do like contrast . Black seems to accentuate color .

But , the flood of color ( frame and tin ) has it's pluses , too .

Anyway , I'm sure it will turn out to be eye candy .

Any auto parts store that mixes paint will have a paint chip book.  My powder coater has a chip book too. Had lots of colors.  Wonder if you could even just buy your own powder then have some one apply.   No worries with my guy as he had a lot to choose from then just ordered it in. The green I put on my S2 had some kind of a clear put over it that actually finalized the outcome of the color.

Powder coater said it varies but I think $25 bought me a pound of powder and got me through the job

You will want to compound a small spot to take off any oxidation to get to the best match of colors. That's how I matched the color for my rims. We going the largest spot and polished the stuffing out of it. I have a picture of a bike with that color but it was only one color. Making the frame black and color the tins moron would look great.
