The gas tank and mounting area is not even close to SaftiCycle, but is very similar to Simplex.  The size of the tank just doesn't match any Simplex tanks.

I wonder if he ever rode it at all with the Briggs.. I would be curious how it did with the sprocket and chain drive...I assume has had a centrifugal clutch on the motor.. I am somewhat worried how my Safti Cycle is going to be with just a clutch and and direct drive chain to the rear sprocket..I am thinking I may have to use a jack shaft to get it to perform well through trial and error..

The motor slides back and forth, to engage a belt drive.  This drives a jackshaft, which then uses a chain drive to the rear wheel.
