Factory era extras ?
« on: October 15, 2012, 04:49:39 PM »
Found this on http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/1947-Simplex-Servi-Cycle-102294923 .

1947 Simplex Servi-Cycle, barn fresh, with a major clean and detail. No spray touch up. Factory era extras, seat rail, front fender mascot, front and rear fender guards, extra lights, Simplex speedometer. Runs good, old tires saved, but replaced with new repro tires and tubes. New repro stock exhaust and muffler included. Photos avail. Can ship. $ 5,800. Buzz Walneck 630 / 985 ? 2097. Be a ?Kid? again.

I've never seen these "Factory era extras" . Were they offered by Simplex or an after market supplier ?

This bike has been for sale for at least a year.  I think the "extra's" were all hand made by some past owner who had time to embelish his toys.

That makes sense , Mike .

The extras just do not seem to fit the intention of the bike .
Maybe a PO thought they could improve on simple 'perfection' . ;)
