Hello From NY
« on: September 10, 2013, 11:58:29 AM »
Hi All,
Im just getting into the motorcycle hobby and love the lok of the vintage 40`s and 50`s.  I saw a simex on ebay and fell in love with them and im now looking for a rider, doesnt have to be perfect as id rather some patina.  Figured this is the best place to find an honest bike and learn from the pros

I'm in Speonk.  I grew up in Smithtown.  I have never found a Simplex for sale on Long Island yet, but that doesn't mean they aren't around.

I grew up in Great Neck and moved out here almost 2 years ago.  That's when I got into motorcycles, no friends out here and lots of spare time.  I just started looking for a simplex and I figured with all vintage bikes they are hard to come by. I bought a 1966 Honda ca160 in a couple boxes and did a mild restoration but cant seem to get it running as im not mechanically inclined.
What is a good price for a complete runner???  Ive seen them all over the place from 1500-4000 dollars there is one on ebay now but the guy said he wants 4k and its on the west coast.  By the time I get it shipped to me it would be close to 4800 dollars and that ways out of my budget and for the money I would have to look into a bmw r25.

in any case its great to have a local simplex guru, I haven't had any close experts for my other bike projects.  do you know of any local mechanics that will work on vintage bikes from Hondas to royal enfields?
