The other switch part number (cole hersee) is very similar to the one that relic posted....I've got it at home somewhere.....Wayne also has the number).

The switches are identical on the outside, but are reversed in how they operate.  The 1956 switch, which is mounted behind the motor & on top of the rear lower bar, is activated by the plunger going into the switch body (relaxing the internal spring).  The plunger faces the rear wheel.

The '57 & newer switch is mounted below the rear lower bar & is activated when the plunger is pulled out of the switch body (putting the internal spring in compression).  The plunger faces the motor.
