I'm originally from West Michigan . Still have holdings there , but we moved into our Monaco about 4 years ago and travel North in the Spring and South in the Fall . I was dumb and left my '57 in storage up in mid Michigan . I'll retrieve it come Spring .

Certainly has been quiet on here!  I am working on building a foot operated stand for a shrinker/stretcher, and am looking into getting an english wheel.  I want to try making a Simplex fender.

Anyone else doing anything, even if it is not Simplex?

just thought ya all might like a peak at a car we have done all the work on over the last 4 years. 1965 427 REAL cobra. this car will be shown this spring at ameila island concors. since its been finished only a few have seen the car. the owner has been offered 2 mill for it and turned it down. so now ya say, big deal a cobra, but ahhhh hold on. its one of one black 65 427s, ok so, well its one of 6 427s built on a narrow hip car ( huh, yep a 289 body before they changed). this car has an extensive race  history in ca. car was restored in Lilburn ga and is now in north Carolina with its owner. I will post some finished pix of the car when I download them at home. also, this is the first real cobra that has its frame powder coated. HUH you say, yes you cant take the body off of a REAL one. it would fold up like tin foal, all riveted to the frame. they built the body around the frame.

this car will most likely be one of the most talked about 427 cobras. if you think the black paint looks slick in the pix, you should see it in person. ive never seen a straighter black car

if you think the interior was redone, your wrong. they found a guy in CA that had a 65 427 repoed in 66. he stripped the car of seats, carpet, spare tire, carbs and had it all stored in his basement all these years. they payed 20,000 for all that stuff. cant make this shit up

by the way, that's me in the first pix

Somehow in my infinite wisdom I managed to move somewhere colder than CT..Indiana. And although I have heat in the garage here I haven't ventured out much yet.
I still have some bracketry to put on the truck build and then that'll move along faster.

I will be having my kicker EDMd out for my stretch sometime soon.  I always have my hands on something.  Been working on my 1953 camper.  It will get blast, paint, whatever it needs plus full redo on inside.

Yeah , we need some pics of the interior of that crib . ;)
Who made it ?

We camped with a guy that had gutted and redone one similar to your's . He did a nice job , but I thought it turned out too modern looking .

Pete . :)

Been cold here in Az. with about 4 inchs of snow New Years weekend. It took till this last weekend to melt, with rain off and on for the last four days. Started in on the body work on the simplex, hope maybe to get some primer on it this coming weekend.

It is a Detroiter. Built in St. Louis, Michigan. There are enough retro restore parts out there that I can make it new but still have the charisma it was born with. Redo interior with natural stained birch wood. It should end up with a nice vintage look. Nothing much to see on the inside as I  have it down to the studs.  Problem is I cant figure out how to tow it and a trailer of bikes to Portland.
