Looking for Simplex for sale
« on: April 15, 2016, 06:43:45 PM »
Looking for Simplex with original motor for sale. Also would like info on the average price for a stock Simplex in decent condition. I live on the west coast but would pay to ship if its not too expensive. I am new to the Simplex search.

Where are you on the west coast?
I have been thinking about selling my 56.
I am in Sun City AZ.

For others looking there is a military simplex listed on ebay now. It is out of my price range but others on here might be interested.

Too bad there is not documentation available.  If the story is true, the bike would be very collectible.  It does look genuine though.

I almost thing the throttle control looks iffy and kind of generic. Just wondering how that would be better than a stock throttle control. Looks like some one may have added it.

My buddy's grandfather worked for simplex until they closed. He died a few years ago. He would have known about this.

Simplex did indeed use lever throttle controls on some early bikes. They also used a lever for compression release.

I have no idea why they thought a lever would be easier, but ATV's use a thumb lever instead of a rotating throttle to this day.
