Portland?

I keep reading about Portland. Is this the only get together for the simplex fans? I'd like to attend but hard to do that far from south Texas.

As far as I know, there is no Simplex only meet.  Portland is the meet put on by the VMBC and has all kinds of vintage motorbikes.  It is very well attended and much fun.  One of our regular members here comes from Burton, TX.

I bought my scooter at the "Pate" swapmeet which is north of Fort worth ,Texas. There were several built simplexes at the swap meet that were nice. Some original and most custom with later motor.. There was an Antique Motorcycle association meet there also. There were all types of bikes in the show but no simplexes. I didn't know if Portland was a Simplex only or not.

Rick,
I spoke with Bob about a month ago while he was in the hospital recovering from pneumonia.  At that time he said that he would be out of the hospital in a few days, and that he would see me at Portland.  See you folks later as we are headed to England for a visit with family.  Mike

I had a nice chat with Bob last weekend.  He said he was going to be at Portland on Tuesday thru Thursday.  He is living in Norwalk, Ohio in a condo just across the back yard from his daughter.
