Seat bar
« on: September 29, 2018, 06:04:20 PM »
What year or models had seat bar straight like these? My other simplex's have the bar curve down the frame then come straight out

Are there any frame numbers on these? I think they may be late model automatics, but i’m not sure.

I'll have to look but they have the square crash bars which I thought were older

Ok, did some looking around and definitely not late Automatic, but looks like late shifter bikes.  Here is a thread of a 1952 that has the straight style seat bar.  I had a 1949 Model K, and that had a double bend bar.  I also had a very early 1953 that had a bar that followed the frame and then flattened out.  This would seem to indicate sometime between 1950-1952.

I'm not sure, but IMHO, it looks a little funky.  Too high, doesn't flow as well as the other styles.
