*Big Announcement*

This bike is back in the fold. Recently, the location of this bike was uncovered thanks to the Simplex Facebook page. Unbelievably it never veered far and was still right there in St, Petersburg, Florida.  Through conversations and ambition many of us aspired to own it. But what would happen is that Jim Lokai would make a phone call to secure his ownership.  Soon after that he called me to ask if I would ride with him to go get it and bring it back to Ohio.  I drove to his house on a Sunday and then Monday morning we set out on a whirlwind trip to Florida. We completed the transaction, loaded the bike and arrived back at his house that Wednesday at dinner time.  What a ride!

We looked the bike over very thoroughly and photographed it completely. The engine matches the 1935 patent that was recently discovered.

I think you all know I am a picture guy!  I took many pictures of this bike.  if there is a view that you wish to see more of, I probably have it.  I took in the neighborhood of 150+ photos.

Showing some pics for comparison to the patent.  This engine was advertised as being 'supercharged'. After viewing the patent and inspecting this bike quite intimately in person I can attest to that statement.  The rotary valve is designed with a resemblance of that of an impeller.  Very interesting!  And now perhaps the humor behind the advertisements is silenced.

Wow!! That is sooo kool. That must have been an exciting ride, knowing your going to pick up a holy grail of a Simplex. I hope we get to see that at Portland this year. Congrats to a great find.   bob

Tom, was the cover cast or was it machined?
