That does look like a nice bike for the price.  It's an 8 1/2 hour trip for me if I was interested.  If I didn't have so many other irons in the fire (and just dropped 3500 on a concrete floor for a new garage), I could be tempted.

There's some cool brochures & a parts catalog on ebay right now.  Seller claims it came from an old indian dealership, but the "scooter" brochure is from '63.  I couldn't make out a date on the Paul Treen letter.

Another '49 ish parts bike has turned up on ebay, in Texas.  plate mounted handlebars, but early style front fender braces.  The vertical transmission straps have been removed.

I'm kornpletely kornfused by kornputers.....how do I make a link?  I went to look at the ad again & noticed that somebody else just posted a rear wheel (in Arizona).  It's been sandblasted.  The hub has a lot of pitting.  It has the bolt on sheave.

If you type in simplex motorcycle on an ebay search you should be able to see them also (scroll down thru the rain coats).

I know that Mike. On another forum I visit people post things like this all the time. We just say if there's not a picture or a link it never happened. A passive agressive way so people will make it easier to find what people are talking about without having to turn jump through hoops.

To post a link you just hit Reply. Hit Preview (so it brings up the Full Editing Window), find the 4th Icon on the 2nd Row just above the smilies (the icon looks like a little Globe) click it to insert a link.... Easy Peasy, once you've done it.

Have you guys noticed the model M motor on ebay from the Cleveland area?  From the number (M14741B), it's probably a '53 or '54 model (?).  Up to 380 bucks so far.
Mike Sal

Mike, it went for $661.  Probably not too bad for how rough it looked.

I got a message from the seller that the guy who bought the motor has several Simplex frames & wanted to hear from me about our website.  Hopefully we'll hear from him soon.
