I never saw those horns.  I am not sure how I missed them.  What were the asking prices?

I took the picture of the horns tuesday evening. I think the pricing was around $100 to $135 range. I have seen completed ones for over $200. This guy has the decal and screw kit also. he is in Mid-ohio and goes to the Mid-ohio scooter showthat is around the end of may I think. Thinking about going next year to check it out. Anyways, I have a contact number if anyone is interested. He has been doing those horns for years and at one time had over 200 of them.

If I click my heels three times will the 'good witch of the north' send me back to Portland?  I did bring another Simplex home and I am brainstorming ideas for over the winter!

I thought the paint job on this bike was not very good.  The guy with this one had the 2 tone red/black bike that was professionally painted, and was much nicer.

Hello Everyone,
I just joined the site and have been reading and gaining knowledge right and left onthe simplex's. I just picked up one from a friend while we are vacationing through Christmas in North Carolina with the kids. From what I can gather it is a mis matched bike close to 1948. The engine number is H14335 and it has a cast iron jug. I can find no serial numbers on the frame. The engine was completely overhauled in 1995 as to the previous owner. He said it ran super.

The reason I posted on this topic was that I have access to a gravely engine that is seen on the portland pictures. I was wondering if anyone knew the owner of the bike and had information of how to contact him.

Don't worry I am not going to destroy the bike I just got to put the gravely engine in. But would possibly like to build a bike with that power plant. Who ever built the bike did a superb job. I will try and post some pictures of my bike soon.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome Dave .
Sounds like you found something to do this Winter . :)

Frame # should be on the under side , just behind the steering neck .

Hey Dave,  I took those pics that day of the Gravely. The owner of that Gravely was a machinist in every sense of the word.  That bike was a  stunning extension of his own well being!  I do not know his name but I know Wayne Mahaffey knows him as I believe Wayne supplied a lot of help towards the outcome of that machine.  So maybe Wayne can help you connect with him.

There will be no frame number on a 1948, as frame numbers did not appear until later.
