New member intro
« on: February 20, 2013, 07:50:12 AM »
Hello to all, my first post to introduce myself. I have what I always thought was a 1957 simplex, but after talking to Mike Sal I found out it may be a 1956. I've had it since I was 7, i'm now 57, it is all original and nothing has been changed. I just found out that the stoplight switch is missing, but hey,at 7 as long as I could get it started and ride I was good to go! LOL I also have what we (Mike) believe to be a 1955. I just got it running and man, that sound does bring back memories. I'll try to attach some pics. Agian hello to all.

Welcome Randal . :)

How did you happen to get your hands on a motor bike at age 7 ?

You've had your bike about 2 years longer than I've had mine .

The red bike has the silver clutch loop that the 'hand out' I just posted shows it having.

We were just talking the other day about how I had never seen a plated transmission hoop in real life.....and boom, here we have one.......

Yes, your parents were way cooler than mine.....my dad hated motorcycles & he gave my Simplex away when I was 15 when I wasn't around.
