Fuel tank passage location?

I shined a light into my fuel tank on my 56. I could not see any light on the other side. Where is the fuel passage located?

Illmattic, you have to stick the match really far in to see the holes!!  LOL

The holes are about 1/2 inch from the top of the tank. There is a series of them and they are very hard to see.

So how does the fuel make it over from the other side? Once it runs down an inch I only have a half tank left.

That's the reserve fuel for the bike. You lay the bike down I would of said fuel bowl side and Bob's your uncle you got gas. If anyone would like to see a photos I will post them later.

So how does the fuel make it over from the other side? Once it runs down an inch I only have a half tank left.  

 The tank tapers to the rear.  There are holes down the whole length of the top.  Near the rear the hole is only about an inch or so off the bottom of the tank.  That leaves just enough gas in the reserve to get you to the gas station.

Reese, what kind of camera did you use to take those pictures? Neat picture!

It's just a Harbor Freight inspection camera I picked up to look in tight spots when you just got to know what's there.  I do have a shot from inside the crank looking out the Carb to the air filter. Its hard to see but its a view you don't see everyday.

Its hard to see I may need to try it again but this is inside the shaft looking out the carb off a 45deg mirror.

I think I can see the throttle plate edge ...

It almost looks like there may be some dust clouding the image . But , that has to be a hard shot to get .
