Wheel Lacing

I just received a call from my local bike shop that is lacing my 1938 brake hub to the rim. I purchased the spokes(all the same size) from Wayne. The question is the rim is off-set about 1 inch from center to the right, this is where the sheave will mount as it is direct drive and drives off the right side with the brake hub to the left.Can anyone tell me if this is correct? The bike shop says I would need two different length spokes to center the hub as there is a drastic difference from the left and right side of the brake hub. Thank You !

my guess is the hub is centered to the rim.  Get in touch with Bill Erikson, he has an early bike & may be able to give you the correct advice.

Be sure tou got the right spokes. When i got mine I had to send some back cause they were to long. If the old ones are around compair them to the new ones. The hub with breaks should set a little left of center to have room for the break plate anf locking nuts.   8)

I think spoke mount flanges should be centered regardless of attachments
