« on: February 15, 2014, 07:42:28 AM »
Hi Driver,
Just saw you were in Austin Tx.
I'm in Burton Tx  and so is Oil Lamp ,about 100 miles east of Austin.
I have a 1947 and he has 4 bikes.
If your ever out and want to stop by give me a shout. My eMail address is on the profile page.
If you shoot me an eMail I'll send you my phone number.
For a retired persom I stay busy so always call and make sure I'm in but, I love to talk bikes and such.
Might even arrange for you a quick ride on the Simplex.
Cheers
Stafford

Thanks! If I make it out there I'll be in touch. Just a working stiff at the moment with aspirations of a few 'fun toys' in the future. Alway wanted a mini bike as a kid and now as a adult I want a decent modern pit bike like a Ruckus or a classic like Simplex. Something with "character". I considered Cushman, saw some exquisitely restored pairs at the Woodward Dream Cruise back 10 yrs ago but just like the Simplex so much more. Always have.

Glad you shouted back.
Sacked groceries as a kid to buy my first mini bike ; Still have it today.
Thought about restoring it but always have other projects going on.
I love everything with wheels and have always had some type of bike since I was 14.
Don't own and never did own show queens; every thing I have I ride if I can keep it running.
Keep in touch
Oh and I have a friend with a Ruckus that was on the back of last month "Ride Texas Magazine"
If you have a chance take a look.... it is crazy.
Cheers
