If I was computer literate I would post a picture.  It is maroon paint with white pin stripe on the fendors, rims and sheeve are powder coated white, Heathers Leather did the seat, Wayne Mahaffey did the engine, runs great, simplex tires, the only thing per Wayne Mahaffey that is not correct on the bike is the air cleaner, it is original, but is in verticle position and should be horizontal, Ignition  Key works and lights work.  I do not have a title and still have to work on that. I have $4000 in it, paid too much for it, and put too much in it.   I took the bike to Wayne several months ago as I needed some help, what a great guy.

Completed just a few months ago.  $4500 Very Nice, Maroon Paint, Stainless Spokes, Rims powder coated white.  Wayne Mahaffe rebuilt the engine.
Runs great.  Ignition and lights work.  All correct.  Heathers Leather did the seat.  Need a new project.  Located just north of New Orleans, LA.  Simplex tires, all new bearings in axles.  Automatic.  Has 52 emblem on it, liked it better than 53 emblem.  Will give 53 emblem to put on.

I used a furniture mover, about $10 at Harbour Freight Salavage, put a plastic milk crate upside down on it.  Strap the crate to the furniture mover put the bike on top and strap all 3 together.  Works Great

Engine & Transmission / Re: Cylinder Compression

I had gotten frustrated in not getting it to run.  I made the trip to see Wayne Mahaffey, the first time he hit the crank, it cranked.  It had been days since I tried, it had been flooding.  Wayne adjusted the carburator, corrected all the things I had done wrong, and the 2 others that had tried to restore the bike before me.    Clutch, steering column, front axle, key switch, kick stand, carburator and many other itemswere corrected. If you ever have the opportunity to visit Wayne, he and his wife are wonderful people.  His expertise is invalulable.  He has a great collection of bikes and scooters.

Engine & Transmission / Cylinder Compression

What should the compression be on a 1953 automatic.  I have a good spark, gas is getting to plug, air is getting to cylinder, it wont run.  Any suggestions, I am stumped.  Compression on cylinder is 65 lbs.

Thank you, I will send him an email.  I have been unable to find a simplex that is far enough along for me to complete the restoration, last week I ran an add on Craigs list that I was looking for one, and a gentleman called me and I went and looked at a 1953 that has the frame restored, engine rebuilt, magneto rebuilt, new brakes, new bearings in wheels, new spokes and powder coated rims, clutch rebuilt.  He is a the son of the Harley/Honda retailer in New Orleans, and he knew Mr. Treen, from when he would come in the shop to talk to his dad.  He started restoring it and lost interest, I bought it and some kind of simplex frame and tank that they made in the 30s that for a mini bike. He has at least 100 hondas that he has restored, and 200 more he has accumulated.  I apologize for rambling on but I am rather excited.  Bike is missing the key, any ideas.
