I had to replace the pins where the springs ride on the left one because they were rusted some. Turns out they were only pressed in. Some heating with a torch and twisting back and forth with vise grips and out they came!

Tom, are the lower legs solid or hollow? If solid, are they drilled to allow the upper piece to just slide in with a press fit?

Measures like regular 1/4 pipe. Nearly don't have to drill it to accept upper rods. I took one of these apart to mod my green bike and bottom pieces are made like originals. Tang is .250 thick by .300 wide.

Mine are tube...I took the plate off the old one and the bottom inserts...it's much nicer now and I used a brass bushing where it slides threw the plate.....pics soon
