Twist throttle to gs190
« on: December 25, 2022, 07:50:04 AM »
I have the gs190 mounted in my aftermarket frame. I have made it to hooking up the carb. Anyone figured out an easy way to hook up a twist throttle to this engine? Would you use the governor or go straight to carb?

I removed the governor, made a mounting plate and hooked it directly to the throttle.  I don’t have any good pictures, since I no longer own this bike. Here is the only picture I have.

I figured out a bracket. To remove the governor, just take the arm off and leave everything else alone?

I seem to remember I removed everything from inside the motor. I think it was a plastic gear and linkage. Getting old sucks , I have a case of CRS.  :)

I remember talking about that motor with you Rick. Pretty sure that is what you did.  Might as well get all those parts out of there! I just did a kart motor and left the arm and all alone and tied it over one way.  But if it is for looks remove it!

It won’t effect anything to remove arm and ignore the rest? This bike is for wife so all i am really after is dependability. Not even hiding or disguising the engine.
