That's a great idea Rick!!  I plan to take mine for a spin a short ways(no snow yet).  I picked up one of those inductive Tach/Hour meters that you just wrap the pick-up wire around the spark plug wire.  Just want to see what the rpm's look like.

And , I'm sure more than just myself would be interested in a few pics of that inductive tach/hour meter installed and cranking .

I did , too . It was a great ride . Warm and sunny . No other traffic and the warm smell of Coletus in the air ... Then I woke from my nap . :(

I took mine for a spin too.  Decided to take the tach off of the Briggs on the go-kart as the read-out is much larger.  Plus it has a max recall. Really interesting as I rocked the foot clutch back. I feathered the rpm's and could see it stay steady as I went. Cruised at about 2720rpm. I wasn't at full all-out throttle.  When I disengaged the clutch too quickly before backing off the throttle I saw the tach hit about 3100rpm.  But only for an instant.  Going for another spin tomorrow to investigate further.  I want to observe more readings while clutching.
