Fifith-ton Truck brochure

Looks to be an authentic, original brochure.  Looks like the 1952 tank decal.  Maybe early though as it sports a rocker clutch.  I found it interesting how there were custom box dimensions available in the fact that a person could have a box that varied in size from the standard size but still be a factory original.

Tom, really neat seeing what a personnel box looks like.  Maybe I should replicate that on mine. 

Interesting to see how much the automatic transmission cost.  $47 , how much is that in current dollars?  I wonder what percentage of buyers went for it?

I think that personnel box would look pretty good on your tribute , Rick .

$47.00 in 1952 had the same buying power as $400.25 in 2012.

Annual inflation over this period was 3.63%.

The question that I can't get a answer to in my brain is. They used the same gas tank as the bikes right. How do you access the reserve fuel?¿? They don't look to be easy to tip over. Any experience?

That is an excellent question.  I wonder if the factory truck gas tanks had the baffle omitted, or if they added extra holes to let the fuel get to both sides?  We have a member who owns one.....maybe he can be reached for comment (if it still has the original tank).
