Hi I am new to this world I just got my first servi-cycle I am told it is a 1941 looks to be complete but missing the engine I don't know if I should do a complete restoration or if I want to get it back to running order can some one please tell me how hard is it to find a engine for one of these motorcycles ?

Motors seem to be kind of hard to find .

I have known Wayne Mahaffey for a number of years and he is a first rate person to deal with. He can machine any part you need for a motor or he can supply a complete motor. Any other parts needed for a Simplex build is avaliable from Wayne.

Just dig in , but beware , these bikes are addictive .

You've got a great start to a Simplex.  If your interested in a authentic restoration, you definitely want to check out the Wollard auction next month in Florida (bidding on-line will be available).  You should call Wayne & chat him up.  I'll be he'll be at the auction & could help get you an early engine.

That air breather looks a lot like the one on my 1948.  Looks like it has tank side covers .  If so, those are pretty rare . And chrome fenders too?  '48 deluxe?  Post more pics when you can and compare to pics of my bike. Take a look at some of the brochures too.  I know it's too soon until you truly identify your ride but I see a 48-1248 numbered block listed in the Wollard auction.
