I used my last old bike (a '36 Hawthorne) as a trade in on my Simplex. 

There are usually some of the oldies show up at the Portland meet every year.  I've been tempted to pick up another one to finally do that "motorized bike" project from a '36 Popular Science magazine.

Sorry to say, I've got the same affliction as you. I thought I was better, but it seems to have flared up again.
