wanted....26" simplex wheels

Bruce, what did you do with the sportsman wheels?  I think you may be able to use them with a 3.00 x 21 motorcycle tire.

I just bought these and have mounted one.  They have a very aggressive tread with large knobbies.  They will not fit under a regular simplex fender, but should work with the much larger sportsman fenders.  The  diameter at the bead is approximately 3/8" larger than the stock simplex 27 x 3 tire that I have, but seems to be not much of an issue.

If I didn't have the large fender, and was thinking of trying those whizzer fenders you were thinking about using, I might try the same tire in 2.75 x 21.

I've got a complete rear wheel-$125.00 and a rim that had a few spokes that got pulled thru-useable but needs a little repair$30.00 and a front hub $30.00 also have a extra drive pulley-$65.00

Relic, those are decent prices for your stuff.  Is the drive pulley a bolt on or a clip on style?

That is a late model sportsman wheel, as used on 1959-1960.  They use the back to back double brake drums.  The 1958 Sportsman used the standard simplex 2" wide wheel.

I read where someone had used the motorcycle tire and I measured the difference and it is only 3/8" at the bead.  I feel that it should be safe.

Yes, motorcycle tubes.  I use these with the regular simplex 2" wide rims also.  The don't cost much more than a bike tube, are heavier and have the locking nuts on the valve stems.

The sportsman wheels are neither wider nor 27".  27" is the outside diameter of the tire.  Just like a 26" is the outside diameter of the tire.  Both rims are 2" wide as measured at the inside of the flange. The sportsman rim is 3/4" SMALLER diameter than the regular Simplex rim.

Yeah, they look really good.  I wish someone on here had one of these sportsman, as I have some questions about how the hubs go together.  I can't find a picture or manual that lists these wheels.

No, I got them like that.  I'm not sure, but I think they have been rechromed.
