We have visited the ER so many times they know us by name. The day I was born my mom was in one room at the hospital and my father was in another room in traction from a devastating crash at Ascot Speedway. I always tell myself and boy's to be safe, but when the gate drops that all seems to go out the window. We all want to be first to the checkered flag!! My brother and his children are the same way although they race dirt track modified and sprints. I guess Racing is in our blood. I thought I would share a few photos of my brother and his son. They are both great racers and I am very proud of them.

I thank god for keeping us all safe and alive.

We try the best we can. My son got home yesterday. He told me in the video the radio-controlled helicopter with two go-pro cameras on it hit his truck while he was in mid flight. The on board GPS system recorded him hitting the jump at 84mph. Now that I think of it, he is better of with a roll cage then racing motorcycles. When your kids are doing what they love in extreme sports it exciting but on the other hand we pray for the safety of them and there competitors.

Pete, I here you!! They just grow up to fast..Motorcycles are a part of our every day life. Video games are not for us. My oldest son Zack started racing at four years old and now is a professional racer. He just recently got a job as a AMA mechanic for super-cross racer #448 Brock Shoemaker. The west coast 250 class is on break so last weekend he raced Stadium trucks at Prim, Nevada. He is in the red truck. Here is a video.

Wayne, is for sure a stand up guy and very professional. He not only is very busy, but will always take the time to be of great assistance. I do believe without his services there would be a lot more Simplexes in the bone yard and not on the road.  My hats off to you my friend..

Thank you

Look on my frame I used furniture bumpers. They come in black and clear and have sticky back tape on one side.

The cone and chamber have to be in the proper location. Come to think of it.. if I was going to go that far I might just retrofit a comet 125cc go-kart engine as a replacement for the stock engine.  I think I need another bike to build as a modified version?  :) :)

I have to agree with Rick. I am running my Simplex right now at a 40:1 ratio on pump gas.

I here you. With today's synthetic oils you can run them 100:1 ratio. (I would not recommend) The key is if it is a new rebuilt motor to break it in with regular two-cycle oil not synthetic, After the motor has heated and cooled and ring has seated you can switch to synthetic if you desire. Every motor has it's performance heights determined by the un-burned oil and compression. You can gain compression in single ring motors by adding more oil. Although un- burned oil creates heat and carbon build up. This is all determined by the design of the engine. I have spent the last several years testing oils and fuel alternatives, I run my small two-cycle race engines at 16:1 Synthetic ratio with Colemen fuel. I have accomplished almost 6-1/2 horsepower out of a 26cc engine. This doesn't mean it will work in  your Simplex or two-stroke bikes. It took me hours of testing, plug readings, RPM and maximum speed and reliability to convince me of a higher oil count. Although with Colemen fuel it is hard to get a good  plug reading it works great in my application. I guess I will have to do some experimenting with the Simplex engine.

The oil is not a factor. It is the heat!!

Good Question? You are right about running hot. White gas has a tendency to run hotter due to the flash rate/ lower octane. This is why I raise the question? I can test it and take some cylinder head readings. I run Amsoil 40:1.

Has anyone run Coleman fuel?  "Also known as white gas." I have been using it in low compression race engines for years... Beside the fact that it has little to no smell when transporting from show to show. I do not see an advantage in a Simplex being the carburetor doesn't have any diaphragms. All pump gas today has additives that destroy accelerator pumps after time. This might be a great option for those of you who travel with your bikes in a van, motor home or enclosed trailer.
